Lamb of God remind us of the impossibly hot, yet unforgettable experience that was Bloodstock 2022 with the release of a live shot video for Omens taken during their headline set.
D. Randall Blythe spoke of Omens when the original single released: “I think a lot of the messes human beings find ourselves in could be very easily prevented simply by paying attention to obvious repeating patterns, both in our personal lives and in a broader sociohistorical context. What some call ‘omens’ are really just manifestations of the fact that there is nothing new under the sun. It’s foolish to ignore this, but we all do it.”
Omens is the title track from their forthcoming album, released October 7th through Nuclear Blast. Their 9th studio release under the name, it proves to be aggressive, sharp and most definitely pissed off.
“The world is crazy and keeps changing. Omens is a reaction to the state of the world,” Blythe explains. “It’s a very pissed-off record.” He pauses for emphasis. “It is extremely pissed-off.”
Recorded at Henson Recording Studios, LA, and produced by long term producer Josh Wilbur, Lamb of God have cemented their place in at the throne of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal scene.
“The inner workings of the band have never been better,” explains guitarist Mark Morton. “You can hear it in Omens. You can see it in our performances, and if you’re around us for five minutes, you can feel it.”
A large variety of options and bundles are available for pre-order, included a black marbled vinyl exclusive to the UK. Orders can be made from Lamb-of-god.com and recordstore.co.uk. All CD and Vinyl orders made through https://www.nuclearblast.de/ will be rewarded with a free access code to watch the livestream documentary “The Making of Omens”, due to premier the week of the albums release.
Lamb of God are currently midway through a US tour with multiple bands over different legs, but the fittingly named State of Unrest tour is soon due to hit the UK shores in December.
